On Tuesday the 1st of May, Morden Mount Boys Year 5/6 Football team played 3 matches against James Wolfe. A big improvement in team play, communication and decision making resulted in 3 very good results for Morden Mount. The first Match ended in a 2-2 draw, the second match was a high scoring 4-4 draw and in the third match Morden Mount managed to win narrowly 2-1. There were superb performances from a lot of our players namely Marquice who played fantastically in goals, Theo who was a rock in defence, Chinedu who created most of our goal scoring opportunities and Sadik and Mergim scored some well taken goals. Well done all and Thank you to all the parents who came to support the team.

Girls Football 21/02/18

G Walsh (gwalsh) on: PE and Sports in Morden Mount

On Wednesday the 21st of February, Morden Mount Girls Football team took part in the Greenwich tournament in Woolwich Polytechnic. The girls trained on Wednesday Mornings at 8am for 14 weeks leading up to the competition and improved their football skills dramatically. The team played really well throughout the tournament but failed narrowly in securing a place in the knockout stages. We drew 3 matches and lost 2 matches. We drew with the eventual winners so with a bit of luck on the day, we might have progressed further. Lashante was excellent in goals and also made an appearence as a midfielder. Aliyah and Julisa worked tirelessly and there was some great performances from Rasha, Sweta, Bonilara and Reeda. Well Done Girls!!

Morden Mount competed in the mixed Year 5/6 Football Tournament in Charlton's training academy. This was the first time we had entered a tournament with this particular squad of players. With some excellent performances from Kyle, Theo and Marquice in the defence, Aliyah and Julisa in midfield and Chinedu and Mergim scoring the bulk of our goals, we made it through to the semi finals of the competition. A notable achievement of the day was we were named as the school who scored the most goals in the competition. Well done to everyone!!
