Welcome to our new Year 1 children
Hi everyone,
Well 7 school days left of what I can only describe as the most strangest year I have ever taught!
Our Year One classes are moving up for a tester week in Year Two this week. SORRY THERE IS NO MORE ROOM AVAILABLE TO ACCEPT ANYONE ELSE TO THIS, Sorry but watch out on the website for some transition bits for you at home.
Here is the weekly plan but I will upload some more bits for later in the week.
Hope you are keeping safe and well and we will see you all in September! We will try to phone you this week to say goodbye and check in on you one more time before the end of term!
Lots of love

Hello everyone,
Well it's been over 100 days since we last saw some of you, we hope you are staying safe and well during these strange times.
School is slowly returning to normal with the new office complete and the builders starting to complete the new layout in the old office space. I can't wait to see these new rooms complete in September!
It's really nice to see so many children back at school, enjoying being back in a routine, seeing some of their friends and being allowed to run around at playtimes! Of course, we have been working hard too!
I hope you enjoyed working on your postcards last week and I can't wait to read them!
Here's the work for this week.
weekly plan for 6th - 10th July
Remember if you are thinking of returning to school before the summer holidays, that would be lovely but please let us know as we will be able to let you know which bubble you are in and other information you need to know.
Keep safe and well,
Missing you all

J Birkby (jbirkby) on: Photos of the your new classes
Hi Year One and of course hello to all your parents and carers,
Well we have completed another week back at school. We hope that you all are still keeping well. Some of our children have now returned to school and are enjoying themselves back at school with their friends. Morden Mount is opening to more children next week and due to this they are some changes to Year One. If your child has not yet returned and you would like them to, you will need to call the school to arrange this.
I hope that you are still staying safe and are still obeying the rules so that we can all come out of lockdown completely soon.
Here is the work for the coming week.
Additional resources to help you include
Monday(Literacy) - How to write a postcard
Fri(Maths - you don't need all of these) -subtraction colouring1, subtraction colouring 2 or subtraction colouring 3
Hope we will get to see you postcards this week.
Lots of love

Hello Year One!
I hope you are all doing ok. It has been 2 weeks since we opened our doors to welcome Year One back to school.
It has been really lovely seeing the children this week. We have had lots of fun! Last week we checked to see how our beans are growing, they are doing well. We made seaside collages as well as trying to social distance and washing hands as well as having the class cleaned through the day. We all have our own work stations and trays with our own resources in.
We have been asked to post the plan for the entire week on Monday, as we are now in class and have lots to do!
The plan should be easy for you to follow and although we are printing resources for pupils in school, adjustments have been made on the planning for drawings/ online games instead.
All teachers and TAs hope to see you all back very soon.
We're here for you when you're ready to return. Please email or call if you have questions and we will get back to you as soon as we can
Lots of love

Hi All,
Hope you have are all doing OK!
I can't believe it has now been 12 weeks since we last saw you all at school together.
We will complete our first week back at school, numbers are low but those who have come back seemed to be enjoying themselves. This week we have completed lots of activities - writing, maths, planting seeds, painting, using our own individual pots of playdoh and making our own snakes and ladders games. They have enjoyed playing with their friends in the 'bubbles' and having picnic packed lunches outside!
Here are the tasks for Friday's learning.
Enjoy the weekend.

Hi everyone!
Wasn't today an eventful day! Some of Year One returned to school today and lots of fun was had!
The children had fun , lots of singing and dancing, painting, playtime outside with our friends, as well as reading, writing and maths.
The children enjoyed having a picnic lunch in their classrooms with their teachers. My class went home saying they'd had an awesome day and that they'd be back tomorrow! That bought a smile to me!
If you are still at home we miss you loads and what to know that we are thinking of you all!
Here's the work for today.
Have fun and stay safe.

Hi everyone,
Another lovely day, I hope you all managed to get out and enjoy some of the sun today.
I know officially tomorrow is a Bank Holiday and that our school would be normally shut but I have planned activities for you to do. Parents don't feel pressured to do them but I thought it might be nice for your children to understand why we are celebrating our Bank Holiday today on V.E day rather than when it should have been on the first Monday in May (4th ,last Monday).
Enjoy the long weekend and make the most of the next two days as apparently Sunday is going to get very cold.
Lots of love and keep safe,

Make sure you and the children take a break in between and don't stress or worry if they're not feeling it today!

Good morning!
Here's the final instalment for this week.
I can see only a few are accessing the site, so I hope this means that the packs are easy to follow. So many have collected theirs, I hope you're enjoying the activities.
I'm sorry if I didn't call you this week. I've had a bit of a cough and chest infection. I'm fine, but don't want to be coughing down the phone at you.
I'll call next week, meanwhile if you need anything please let the school know, they'll pass on any messages meant for me.
Take care,

Another sunny morning, it does make getting up a little nicer doesn't it : )
Here are today's activities, I really hope you're enjoying them and showing everyone at home how fabulous you are!
I called a few of you yesterday to remind you about the packs that haven't been collected. I am happy to deliver if you are isolating, or we can post if you live further away. Please just let us know.
The practical activities are much more beneficial to year one children than only having online work to complete. Their fine motor control is still developing and a practical approach to learning really helps them understand and retain information.
I saw a lot of you on Monday when you came to collect your packs, which was so lovely. I'll call those that I haven't had the chance to speak to this week, it's important to stay in touch. You can use the opportunity to let me know if you need any help, advice or resources.
Take care my lovelies,

Easter Break
Hello everyone!
I hope you're all keeping well, staying safe and STAYING HOME!
Most of the Easter packs were collected, but if you didn't manage to get to the school don't worry, they're still available from next Tuesday (14th) when we are open for Key worker's children. If you are unable to collect because you are isolating, we can try to deliver or post it to you, just let us know.
I hope your rainbows are coloured correctly and displayed proudly in your windows : ), you know how much I LOVE rainbows!
I was sent this link which Axel Scheffler has produced, it's a book about Covid-19 Coronavirus just for children - it's available as a FREE download. https://nosycrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Coronavirus_INS.pdf It's fun and hopefully useful.
I have also been sent this free print out file:///E:/aaa%20homeschooling/My-Covid-19-Time-Capsule-1.pdf which is a booklet for children to complete with you at home. If you are unable to print it out, please let us know and we will print it for you at school and can either send it, or prepare it for collection. This isn't part of our planning, but is a nice activity which will allow children to practice their writing skills and discuss how they are feeling with you.
The weather is beautiful and I desperately want to go out and enjoy it, but I'll have to wait until it is safer, as I'm sure you are all doing too. If you know anyone planning on going out this weekend, please try to speak to them about the importance of staying home at this crucial time. If we stay home now, we can all get back together quicker.
Take care,
