The making of a balloon-powered car

Year 1 pupils had fun designing, building and testing balloon-powered cars.

In the lesson, pupils were required to design and build their own balloon-powered car taking into consideration how air resistance and friction will affect the speed of their car and use a streamlined design for their balloon-powered car to prevent this. The cars were then put to test in a car racing competition.
