Important: Early School Closure on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th June due to Extreme RED Heat alert
Dear Parents and Carers,
As you may be aware, the Met Office has issued an extreme red heat alert for the London area.
The health and safety of our pupils and staff is always our top priority. Because classroom temperatures are projected to rise significantly as the day goes on, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to implement an early school closure on Wednesday 24th June and Thursday 25th June.
Please note the adjusted arrangements for these two days:
· Collection Time: Pupils should be collected at 1:30pm immediately following afternoon registration.
· Pick-up Points: Standard dismissal procedures apply. Please collect your child from their usual pick-up points.
· Lunch: Children will still have their lunch at school before dismissal.
Year 3 and 4 Wednesday trip to the Royal Festival Hall
The implementation of school closure on Wednesday, alongside limited transport into London, means that, unfortunately, the Year 3 and 4 trip to the Royal Festival Hall will be cancelled.
We are in touch with Royal Festival Hall to see what our options are moving forward. We will let you know of any updates, as soon as we have them.
We are continuing to closely monitor the weather forecast and assess the conditions of the school buildings. We will send out an update regarding arrangements for Friday 26th June as shortly as possible.
We understand that early closures can cause inconvenience for families, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our school community safe during this extreme weather.
Please ensure your child comes to school with a refillable water bottle, a hat, and sun cream already applied.
Thank you for your continued support.
