School Uniform

We believe that school uniform promotes a sense of pride in the school, looks smart, is practical and makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance.

The Morden Mount school uniform is a red sweatshirt or cardigan with or without the school logo on it, worn with a white polo shirt and dark trousers or skirts (black or grey). Girls may wear red gingham dresses. Shorts may be worn in the summer. Sensible black footwear should be worn.

We promote the wearing of jumpers/cardigans with our school logo on but red jumpers/cardigans without the logo are acceptable.  These should be school uniform jumpers – casual jumpers are not allowed.  Branded uniform can be purchased from Bailwood Fashions, Lewisham High Street.

For PE the uniform is a white T-shirt with the red logo, shorts or tracksuit bottoms (without any logo) and a pair of trainers. For outdoor PE sessions pupils should wear a pair of tracksuit bottoms. Branded items can be purchased from Bailwood Fashions, Lewisham High Street.

Children must not wear jewellery such as necklaces, large or dangling earrings, bracelets or bangles. If your child’s ears are pierced, studs must be worn. In the event of jewellery being lost, stolen or causing injury to the wearer or others, the school cannot be held responsible.

Long hair should be tied back and children must not wear make-up or nail polish.

Shoes that children wear for school should be sensible for both learning and play time and should be black. Strapless shoes, flip-flops or shoes with high heels are not allowed.  If pupils are wearing wellington boots to school then these must be changed before the start of the day.  The only exception to this is for reception pupils who are visiting Forest School.
