Creatively Balanced Athletes

These photos demonstrate how learning throughout PE has been taught in summer term.

Copy, Create, Repeat - Reception

Reception children learnt how to recognise that actions can be performed to music. That tried to copy, create, repeat and perform some basic actions to music. By the end of the unit they were ablt to use their body to recreate and symbolise people and actions using themes of ‘transport’ and ‘people who help us’.

Copy, Create, Repeat, Repeat - KS1

The children were guided in recognising that actions could be performed to music. They learned to copy, create, repeat, and perform a variety of basic actions in rhythm with the music. They were encouraged to use their bodies to imaginatively recreate and symbolise different people and actions, exploring movement in creative and expressive ways.

Creativity and Consistency - LKS2

The children became increasingly competent and confident in performing skills with greater consistency. They learned to perform in time with both a partner and as part of a group. Through guidance, they were able to incorporate compositional ideas into their sequences, developing a sense of creativity and teamwork in their movements.

Lanes and Pitches - UKS2

The children had the opportunity to experience flight on and off high apparatus, building their confidence and coordination. They developed and performed a variety of partner balances, working together to support and challenge each other. With guidance, they used equipment and formations with confidence, creating rhythmic gymnastics-style sequences that showcased their creativity and teamwork. UKS2’s children also continued to participate in extra curricular sports such as football, and year 5 went swimming.
