Catch, Throw, Let’s Go - EYFS

.The entire class is engaging in warm-up activities, including running and participating in large group games. Individually, children are practicing skipping. Reception pupils are copying and repeating different patterns and movements with a partner, incorporating gymnastic shapes. In pairs, they are participating in throwing and catching exercises and collaborating as a team to solve problems.

Movement Basics - KS1

As a whole class, children warm up by running and playing large group games. We talk about what happens to our bodies when we exercise and practise how to find our pulse. Based on prior learning of throwing and catching the children continue to play a variety of games. They will practise their basic movements, including running and jumping, and begin to engage in competitive activities. As a small group, children agree how to score points.

Different Net Worths - LKS2

We began the year with football and basketball focusing on specific aspects of each sport. Learning the rules, regulations and skills. In football we learned about different positions on the pitch and how every position requires a different skill. Basketball we focused on offensive and defensive fouls contributed with shooting, dribbling and passing.

Winter Gymnastics - UKS2

In the winter term we did gymnastics, stretching and learning about different muscle groups before exploring routines, sequences working in groups effectively and performing balances, shapes, jumps, rolls and leaps. Understanding the difference between a counter balances, 1 and 2 point balances, 3 and 4 point balances, symmetrical and asymmetrical balances.
