Earthโ€™s Interior Decorators - KS1

This picture captures Year 2 pupils demonstrating the enquiry approach to learning. Using maps, they successfully identified the key physical and human features of London, skillfully contrasting the London urban environment with the city of Nairobi, Kenya. This collaborative display of map work plays an essential role in fostering geographical understanding across our school.

A Peek at the Creek - LKS2

Year 4 enjoyed a geography field trip to the Creekside Discovery Centre at Deptford Creek. Dressed in thigh-high waders and clutching walking sticks, we stepped into the low tide to explore the muddy banks of the River Ravensbourne. The highlight for many was wading through the water to hunt for river life; we were amazed by the freshwater shrimp and crabs we managed to catch in our nets. This hands-on experience connected with our classroom learning, bringing our topic on rivers to life.

Geo-Mysteries in History - UKS2

Year 6 pupils did not just visit the Docklands Museum, they plunged into a geographical and historical immersion that brought the past to life. Entwined with their history curriculum, the visit allowed the pupils to dissect the map and landscape of London, uncovering how its identity was fundamentally shaped by its historical and powerful naval industry. This picture celebrates our immersive approach to learning in Geography and the importance of map work.
