Faith and Kindness

As part of the implementation process, an ambitious and cohesive medium-term planning demonstrating the progression of core knowledge (substantive) and skills (disciplinary) pupils will acquire in their study of RE in each year group will be curated.  The medium-term plan will feature an overarching enquiry question which will map out the learning journey of pupils including their extended experiences and learning outcomes. The medium-term plan will be translated into child-friendly enquiry questions which will guide the learning journey of the pupils. Impact of this implementation process will include clear and precise triangulation between the medium-term plans, pupils' learning (as seen during learning observations), extended learning experiences and pupils’ books.

Prayers and Unity - EYFS

As part of their exploration of the world around them, Reception pupils have been learning about family traditions and religious practices. This beautiful artwork celebrates one child's depiction of a special daily moment, coming together with his family to pray. His drawing lovingly represents each family member, capturing the warmth, unity, and meaning behind their shared ritual. It's a heartfelt glimpse into how faith and togetherness play a role in his everyday life.

Kindness is Strength - KS1

This picture celebrates year 2’s journey of exploring the power of kindness through storytelling. They've discovered how compassion connects us all, no matter where we come from or what we believe. Using the tale of the Taming of the Elephant, a Buddhist story of patience and peace; reflected on the wisdom of "The Fruit Seller," a Hindu story of generosity; learned from the example of Prophet Muhammad and the old woman who once mistreated him; and the timeless Christian parable of the Good Samaritan. Each story, unique in its origin, reveals the same powerful truth: kindness is a universal language.

The Eightfold Path - LKS2

This thoughtful artwork celebrates a pupil’s growing understanding of Buddhism. Inspired by her exploration of the Eightfold Path, she delved into the core principles of Buddhist teachings, mindfulness, compassion, and right action. Drawing from what she learned, she created her own meaningful interpretation, using art to express the values and wisdom at the heart of the faith. It’s a creative and insightful reflection of her learning journey in this topic.

The Five Ks - UKS2

In their study of Sikhism, pupils have been exploring the many ways Sikhs demonstrate commitment, through faith, service, and daily actions. This learning journey has also inspired them to reflect on their own lives, thinking deeply about how they show dedication in both their learning and personal growth. This powerful piece of artwork celebrates one pupil’s personal map of commitment, beautifully weaving together lessons from Sikhism with their own values and experiences.
