Healthy Minds Matter

As part of the implementation process, an ambitious and cohesive medium-term planning demonstrating the progression of core knowledge (substantive) and skills (disciplinary) pupils will acquire in their study of PHSCE in each year group will be curated.  The medium-term plan will feature an overarching enquiry question which will map out the learning journey of pupils including their extended experiences and learning outcomes. The medium-term plan will be translated into child-friendly enquiry questions which will guide the learning journey of the pupils. Impact of this implementation process will include clear and precise triangulation between the medium-term plans, pupils' learning (as seen during learning observations), extended learning experiences and pupils’ books.

Words That Build - EYFS

In Reception, they have been actively embedding the Kagan cooperative learning approach to support the development of essential social skills. This strategy has been integrated into both carpet times and independent play activities. Waste Not, Want Not - KS1

This term, Year 2 have been learning all about recycling and looking after the environment. The children have explored how rubbish can harm our planet and why it’s so important to reduce, reuse, and recycle. The class took part in fun activities such as sorting rubbish, designing recycling posters, and learning how to save energy and water at home and school. Children now understand that everyone has a role to play in protecting our environment and that they are proud to be responsible citizens who want to make a positive difference for the Earth.

Respectful Relationships Thrive - LKS2

Year 3 have now started their Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) lessons. These sessions focus on helping pupils understand the importance of healthy relationships. To support this learning, an “Ask It” Box has been introduced in the classroom. This provides pupils with a safe, judgment-free space to ask questions anonymously.
